Our family is a big fan of the “traditional American breakfast” which is not complete without an all-star pancake. This is my go-to pancake recipe that is super simple, sweetened with natural honey and creates thick and fluffy hotcakes. My girls will often gobble these up as they come off the skillet. With butter, maple syrup and a slice of bacon, they are absolute perfection! These pancakes taste better than any box mix and will even rival your favorite diner!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder (aluminum-free if available)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 cup milk
- 1 extra large egg
- 3 tbsp melted butter
How to Make Fluffy Honey Pancakes
Combine the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt) in a medium mixing bowl.
In a separate bowl whisk the egg and combine it with the melted butter, honey and milk and stir until fully combined.

Fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until combined. The batter will be lumpy, but no dry spots of flour should remain. This ensures that your pancakes are really fluffy!
Grease and heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
Pour out about 1/3 – 1/4 cup of the batter mix on to the heated pan. This batter is thicker than a standard pancake mix, so I like to use a ladle to scoop the batter into the pan. The pancakes are ready to flip when the face-up side begins to look dry and bubbles form on its surface. Once flipped, cook for 1-2 more minutes. Repeat this process until all of the mixture is cooked.
Remove from the heat and serve with fruit and maple syrup!

The perfect pancake has a golden brown exterior and a bouncy, chewy interior. This recipe ensures your pancakes not only taste amazing, but have the perfect texture every time.
